Why should I buy an AFRDI certified chair ...

The Australasian Furnishing Research & Development Institute is an independent not -for- profit technical organisation providing standards, testing product certification and research for buyers and sellers of furniture.

The purpose of testing and certification is to ensure that products are not only safe, but that they will last , thus contributing to sustainability and minimising use of the earth’s resources.

The standards cover ergonomic, strength, durability, stability, flammability and safety.  The suppliers of the chairs have formally agreed to maintain quality and to submit their products to regular auditing.

The Australasian Furnishing Research and Development Institute (AFRDI) has tested our Cache chairs and certified the widest version to withstand a static load of 407kg.

Cache has been certified with AFRDI Rated Load 151. A standard designed to test chairs that intend to be used in a public space by people heavier than 100 kilograms. CACHE 17.5 'OUT, 19 ‘IN’ and ‘OUT’ have been AFRDI tested for public use for people up to 135kg and to withstand a static load of 330kg in accordance with Furntech AFRDI Test Report & Certificate 12476/4.

CACHE BARIATRIC 26 ‘IN’ and ‘OUT’ have been AFRDI tested for public use for people up to 185kg and to withstand a static load of 407kg in accordance with Furntech AFRDI Test Report & Certificate 12476/4.
